The sands of Lovina is black and volcanic, unlike the white stuff you found in the south. The beaches are also thin and don’t offer much privacy. The highlight of Lovina are the sunstes, as spectacular pas those in Kuta region. And as the sky reddens, the lights of the fishing boats appear as bright dots across the horizon.
Lovina once dubbed as the dolphin capital of Bali. The huge statue erected in honor of the flippered mammal is a testimony to its importance for the local tourist industry. Early morning dolphin tours are offered everywhere. Dolphins are early birds so prepare to wake up before the roosters because the captain of the boat will wake you up at 5 am. Once you get to the beach in sleepy drunken state, the boats will be rolled into the sea and prepped for departure.
